So you've been designing your new website with your Gladlii Website Builder and now you're ready to connect your domain name to it so that your website is live. How do you do that? Here's how to quickly and easily connect any domain name you own to the website you've just designed with your Gladlii Website Builder

Part 1: To Connect your domain name to your Gladlii Website Builder website

1. Hover over PUBLISH (right hand corner of the editor page)

2. Click ‘connect an existing domain’

3. Enter your domain (only the plain domain - yourdomain.com)

4. Follow the steps in Part 2 below to change the domain records so that the domain will point to our servers and to your new site

Part 2: Change your Domain Name Settings (DNS) to Point to Gladlii

1. Log in to your domain name registrar account (login to the place where you registered your domain name. This could be godaddy, 1&1, namecheap...). Login to your account where you registered your domain name.

2. Find in your Control Panel the place where you can change your "DNS records" or "DNS settings" or "DNS Manager". You will be changing your DNS records from the default ones provided by the registrar, to point to Gladlii so that your domain is connected to the website you just designed in Gladlii.

3. In your registrar's Control Panel, change the A record and the CNAME:

A record -        Host --> @ (host should be empty)           points to --> 34.96.116.138

CNAME -         Host --> WWW                                            points to --> im-router-service.com

(If there are previous A records in your DNS settings - make sure to delete them).

That's it! In Part 1 you told Gladlii what you want your website domain name to be. In Part 2 you told your domain name to point to Gladlii. Be sure to save your changes. Remember, domain name changes can sometimes take 24 hours to propogate across the internet. Once your domain provider makes the update, your website will be live! You can do this as many times as you need to for all your different websites and domain names.

TIP: If you're feeling stuck we created this helpful tutorial that shows you how to change the A and CNAME records for some of the most popular domain name registrars like GoDaddy, NameCheap, Register.com... etc. Access the tutorial here.
